Traineeships: A traineeship is a course with work experience that gets you ready for work or an apprenticeship. It can last from 6 weeks up to 1 year, though most traineeships last for less than 6 months.

The Scholarshiphub – Paying for university or college? Tuition fees are increasing but loans are available to all students. Some students may even qualify for grants or bursaries.

Careers In Sport – Work with careers in sport. Since its inception in 2008, Careers in Sport has become the go-to organisation for young people embarking upon their sporting career.

Engineering UK – Engineering is the application of scientific, social, and practical knowledge in order to invent, design, build, maintain, research, and improve structures and machines

FutureHY – Check out the online blog series “A Week In The Life Of”, which is live on the Future HY website now, in partnership with York Cares. This series aims to showcase a range of employer experiences, detailing their career journey and the steps they took to where they are now. The series includes blogs from an employee from GCHQ, an Engineer from Nestle, and a Musical Theatre Director from the Mamma Mia! Tour.
 
e-Clips – This online resource has useful information about entry requirements and routes into over 1,200 jobs and careers.

National Careers Service – This central government website provides access to independent professional advice on careers, skills and the labour market for anyone aged 13 and over. Information can be accessed via the website, or by calling 0800 100 900.

Success at School – A website full of careers advice for students and schools. Parents and carers can also read the Parent Guide 2020 – Helping your child begin their career journey.
