GEORGE PINDAR SCHOOL IS PART OF

Our Community

Our Community

George Pindar School are proud to be working alongside North Yorkshire Police as part of Operation Cracker and the EDGE Project (Enriching, Developing  and Generating Eastfield Scheme). We post regular updates about the great work this initiative is doing to support our community on our News pages – click here to find out more.

In school we routinely support a range of local and national charities and events.

In July 2019 Year 7 Eco Champions travelled to Brandesburton Primary to deliver outdoor furniture made from ecobricks. They were brilliant ambassadors for our school, spreading the recycle and reuse message.

In November 2018 Student Leaders collected for Children In Need and ran a range of activities including a ‘Guess the Name of the Teddy’ competition, a competition to guess how many sweets were in the jar, Staff vs Student Dodgeball and ‘Sponge the Teacher’! Great fun was had by all!

Year 11 Health and Social Care students attended Radio York’s ‘Big Cake and a Cuppa’ event this afternoon at Scarborough Spa. It aimed to tackle social isolation and loneliness. The girls were amazing, chatting away happily with the senior citizens who attended and supporting this important initiative.

In December 2018 our students ‘did their bit in a Christmas knit’ by raising money for Save The Children whilst wearing Christmas jumpers.
